From Facebook and Oracle to Google and more, many Silicon Valley tech companies have added offices in Austin due to the great base of highly-skilled employees and lower cost of doing business. Cloud computing company LiveOps is another example of the tech expansion here, where the cost of living is much better for employees than it has been in California.
"According to Bankrate’s cost-of-living calculator, a $100,000-per-year salary in the San Francisco-Redwood City metro area is worth about $186,000 in the Austin-Round Rock metro area."
